Withings has rolled out a new high-end addition to their range of smartwatches, the ScanWatch Nova. This is a luxe variant of the previously launched ScanWatch 2 hybrid smartwatch, featuring a classic diver-style aesthetic and state-of-the-art health and workout monitoring features. The ScanWatch Nova carries all must-have health functions of the ScanWatch 2, like on-request electrocardiogram, SpO2, continuous body temperature tracking, superior activity tracing, and comprehensive sleep study.
The watch also boasts an impressive battery longevity of up to a month without recharge. The ScanWatch Nova is tested water-resistant up to 50 meters and like other watches from Withings, it is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
Characteristics of the watch include a twistable border of ceramic and stainless steel with laser-inscribed markings that adhere to the usual codes of diving regulations. In low-visibility circumstances, the watch's Lumina-filled hollow hands, indicators, and indices are still clearly visible. The indices are broad and bumped to ensure easy reading.
Additional to the aforementioned technical marvels, the ScanWatch Nova displays a sundial and comes encased in a mirror-finished stainless steel cover. The timepiece uses sapphire glass shielded by an anti-glare coat to protect the display, and notifications are shown on an easy-to-read OLED high-resolution grayscale screen.
According to Withings product manager Etienne Trégaro, this magnificent timepiece discretely integrates a strong health scan within an aesthetic inspired by the immortal tradition of diver-style watches.
The ScanWatch Nova uses a medical-grade ECG on demand to discern possible heart irregularities, just like its predecessor, the ScanWatch 2. The smartwatch can also monitor body temperature patterns throughout the day and night, potentially indicating the onset of sickness.
Its additional characteristics include sleep and fitness parameter monitoring such as steps, caloric expenditure, climbs, and exercise routes. The ScanWatch Nova is now available for preorder on the official Withings webpage, offering a secure and comfortable fit oyster bracelet that tapers from 20mm to 18mm, with a price tag of $600. The watch will be available in three color variants: blue, black, and green. Deliveries of the initial batch of watches are expected to begin from mid-January onwards.
