Samsung, a tech behemoth with 30% of the U.S. telephone market for the 30-49-age group, is known for its unwavering innovation. The year 2023 witnessed a substantial expansion in Samsung's endeavors beyond its familiar domain of smartphones. The Korea-based organization made a leap into a lucrative space, relishing the interests of food enthusiasts. On Aug. 30 of the same year, it unveiled a comprehensive platform named Samsung Food, powered by artificial intelligence and aimed at delivering an immersive, engaging culinary experience.
Bringing the Samsung Food initiative alive in 104 nations across the globe in eight distinct languages, the tool promises to provide over 160,000 recipes. Samsung pledged in its digital press release that Samsung Food is marching ahead with an ambitious plan to work as a personalized assistant. The service vows to help individuals discover and try their hands at new culinary art, strategize tailored meal plans and conveniently purchase necessary components online. The advanced tool aims to remotely manage cooking appliances while mentoring users with a step-by-step process during their cooking methods; it similarly enables them to partake in sharing their beloved recipes on their social media handles.
Despite this colossal venture beyond their familiar territory of mobile phones, Samsung's aspiration to carve a niche in the personalized food service arena doesn't come as a surprise. Back in 2019, the tech titan purchased Whisk: an innovative, AI-powered smart food platform designed to guide users towards meal preparation knowledge founded on their specific inclinations. Subsequently, Samsung incorporated the essence of Whisk: personalized match-making of platform users with their preferred cuisine, whilst integrating the offering with their expanding line of kitchen appliances and food services.
With their advanced AI and automated platform, the organization plans to lean on its own tech expertise to cater to food lovers with personalized nourishment needs. Chanwoo Park, Samsung’s head of digital appliances, stated, “Samsung Food, by integrating digital appliances and mobile devices across the Samsung ecosystem, is employing advanced AI to deliver an all-exclusive, personalized food experience, offering users control right from their palms.” The platform anticipates offering tailored recipes that patrons can save within their electronic recipe box.
Finally, Samsung Food is expected to be conveniently accessible on multiple platforms, including Samsung smartphones, the company’s app, and even the Samsung Bespoke Family Hub refrigerators. Along with this, Samsung intends to debut a diet management tool, taking the help of Samsung Health integration technology along with Samsung Food. This ingenious blend would allow users to receive valuable suggestions for diet management.
