Samsung has recently announced its much-anticipated 2024 Unpacked event scheduled for January 17 in San Jose, California. The tech giant is slated to launch its latest S24 Galaxy series, set to directly challenge Apple's iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models.
Leaks surrounding the S24 indicate that the top-tier Ultra model will boast a 200-megapixel AI-powered camera that has the ability to identify 12 different object types and adjust its settings for optimum photo quality.
The phone's AI functionality is also tipped to provide real-time translation of over a dozen languages. Besides its AI prowess, the S24 Ultra is rumored to have a design overhaul, leaning towards a more square shape with a titanium frame, a design cue inspired by Apple's iPhone 15 Pro.
Samsung is expected to offer the S24 Ultra in a stunning quartet of colors - black, gray, violet, and yellow, all in titanium finishes.
Additional rumors suggest a 50-megapixel 5x telephoto lens outfitted in the Ultra, a step back from the previous 10x telephoto lens. Wi-Fi 7 support is also poised to be an integral feature of the handset.
The base S24 and the S24 Plus are anticipated to share many similarities with the preceding S23 models, albeit with fresh color options and larger 6.7 and 6.2-inch displays.
