Reliance Jio, a telecommunications giant owned by the renowned businessman, Ambani, has recently introduced a new addition to their range of affordable 4G smartphones. The latest device, known as JioPhone Prima, officially hit the market on Wednesday. This device initially made its debut at the well-attended Indian Mobile Congress in 2023.

Jio's journey started with its first 4G keypad smartphone, featuring the unique Kios operating system, launched in the market back in 2017. This new addition, JioPhone Prima, is an extension of their efforts to provide affordable, yet feature-packed, smartphones expanding their product portfolio significantly.

Moving on to the device's features and specifications. The functionality of JioPhone Prima is encased within a convenient layout of a 4G keypad smartphone. Equipped with a 2.4-inch TFT display screen, this device is based on Jio's proprietary Kai-OS operating system and comes with 512MB of RAM. It also provides the users with the advantage of expandable storage capacity, which allows you to extend your device's storage space to an impressive 128GB through a micro SD card.

Delving further into the device's features, it comes preloaded with easy access to popular applications like YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Google Voice Assistant. Notably, the device supports 23 different Indian languages, making it far more accessible and user-friendly for a broader audience within India.

JioPhone Prima is equipped with both front and back digital cameras, essential for basic photography and video calling. Furthermore, the phone comes pre-installed with Jio's dedicated applications such as JioTV, JioCinema, and JioSaavn, aiming at enhancing user experience.

Other functionality of JioPhone Prima includes Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and boasts a robust 1800mAh battery. On top of these features, the phone also provides support for UPI payments via JioPay, truly enhancing its features list and user convenience.Starting from Wednesday, 8th of November, the device is now readily available for consumers to purchase from major retail outlets and also via online platforms.
