Release Date and Pricing

It's no secret that the company has chosen September for the iPhone 16release date  and has adhered to this tradition for many years. The presentation is most often scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month, so we can assume that we will see the new gadget models precisely on this day, which falls on September 10.

After the announcement, the devices go on sale approximately ten days later, although there have been delays in the past due to component shortages, but this is more of an exception than a rule. The company deliberately chose the end of September to early October for the start of sales. This is a very favorable time to maximize profits before the Christmas holidays. Pre-order dates typically begin a few days after the presentation, so there are no surprises expected in this regard as well.

In any case, the approximate release dates are not some special secret; much more interesting and unpredictable are the potential updates to the device's features or design. As for the price range, many hope that the company will follow the same path as this year – that is, maintain the previous pricing for its flagship models. On the other hand, there is a possibility that they might be increased in response to rising production costs and considering global inflation.

Design and Display Changes

iPhone 15

It's evident that there is no exact information on how the phones will look. We still have a whole nine months ahead during which the information about them will be supplemented or even completely changed. There is definitely no revolution anticipated, but overall, there is something to discuss.

Let's start with the titanium frame of the body. Many experts believe that its use will be retained in the new devices. It is not excluded that the construction of the models will be strengthened, as we have heard of cases where rear glass panels shattered due to the lack of sufficient flexibility of titanium. This is a problem that developers really need to think about solving. Although it does not have any visible marketing design changes, the opportunity to get a more reliable and sturdy smartphone is very attractive.

It is more likely that the Action Button, which appeared only in the top models of the 15th series, will migrate to all new smartphones. The standard mute switch has many configuration options, and it's possible that the company will make this function standard rather than privileged. There is also an opinion that Cupertino may altogether abandon Solid-State Buttons in favor of Capacitive Buttons for volume and power.

There are rumors that the iPhone might get another new button, responsible for taking photos or videos. Currently, this is implemented through the volume down button, directly from the touchscreen button on the viewfinder screen, or from the action button if it is available on your smartphone and configured accordingly. How useful this change will be depends on where the button is located. Nonetheless, the ability to take a quick snapshot will undoubtedly be useful to many. Of course, there is still plenty of time for insider information, but we will likely only know for sure around the Apple iPhone 16 release date.

There is debate about the dimensions of smartphones. Several publications assert that the base models will remain the same size or undergo minor changes. However, there are suggestions that the Pro Models may become larger, attributed to the increase in OLED Panels. There are rumors that the Pro Max will reach 6.86 inches, and the regular Pro will be 6.27 inches. There is an opinion that all phones will now use LTPO Display Technology. This will ensure smoother display at a high refresh rate. All analysts also agree that Dynamic Island will stay and be present in all devices.

Will there be new colors introduced? Most likely, but predicting the specific colors is like reading tea leaves. The base models will probably be slightly brighter, as usual, while the flagship models might be slightly more subdued. We can expect the retention of the familiar classic color schemes – dark and light.

Camera Technology

There will undoubtedly be updates in the camera department. However, the question is how significant the improvements will be. Most likely, the base models won't receive substantial changes, as the 15th series already brought significant improvements compared to the 14th lineup.

For the Pro model, analysts predict the introduction of a Telephoto Lens with a fivefold zoom, similar to what was presented in the 15 Pro Max. The most significant changes, as tradition goes, will be reserved for the flagship model. Some insiders suggest a 12x zoom for it, but this step seems overly revolutionary for conservative Apple. There are also increasing reports online that the Ultra-Wide Lens in both Pro models might be upgraded to 48 MP.

Expectations include small software improvements such as enhanced AI, portrait modes, etc. We are likely to see enhancements in Spatial Video Recording as well, although it's doubtful that this feature will be available in the basic variants of the smartphones.

Another leak is the change in the position of the cameras on the back panel of the device. If this turns out to be true, we will see cameras arranged vertically, similar to the 12 series, rather than diagonally. If this decision is made, it is likely associated not with changes in design, but with saving space inside the gadget's body.

Performance and Hardware

iPhone 15

Most likely, the models will have different A-Series Processors—one for the base models and one for the flagship ones. Rumors suggest that the processors will be named A18 Bionic and A18 Pro, with the latter being more powerful, which is not surprising. In addition to the new generation of chips, higher energy efficiency is expected, ultimately improving the gadgets' battery life.

In the Storage Options section, analysts do not expect any changes. Most likely, we will see the same memory capacities as before: up to 512 GB for the base model and up to 1 TB for the flagship devices.

As for the actual battery capacity, it is unlikely to differ significantly from the existing ones. Unless devices with larger bodies will indeed receive larger batteries, which is quite logical. Otherwise, Battery Life may be increased due to energy-efficient internals and optimized software, which we will discuss shortly. Improved Wireless Charging speed would be desirable.

If we talk about internal changes, there is already information about a new graphene system that will help the device better manage temperature. The fact that the iPhone sometimes heats up, like in hell, is no secret to anyone. It would be nice to finally do something about Heat Dissipation.

Software and Features

iPhone 15 series

The new models will definitely get iOS 18. Rumors are already circulating that the emphasis in the operating system will be on artificial intelligence and improved machine learning, which will allow for serious Siri upgrades. It is said that what users will see will be impressive, as the company's development surpasses ChatGPT. There is no doubt about this, but there are doubts about when and to what extent Cupertino will present its creation to the world.

As for Software Support, it will continue for at least five years, and possibly even longer. The company is known for its loyalty to its customers in this regard.

We are all awaiting the new iPhone 16 release date  and will be closely following the latest rumors to update information about the smartphone.
