On August 18, 2023, in Shenzhen, China, OPPO proudly declared the victors of its "imagine IF Photography Awards" for the year 2023. The accolades included gold, silver, and bronze awards conferred upon fifteen photographers, along with recognition for thirty-two creative entries spread across eight categories, purposed to stimulate OPPO users' creativity globally. The competition received an overwhelming response, with more than 700,000 submissions from 51 countries since it was launched on April 17. Its goal was to encourage OPPO patrons and mobile photography enthusiasts to break free from traditional mobile photography constraints and demonstrate their imagination by creating compelling masterpieces.
The esteemed Gold award was bagged by Ahei Huan from China. The artist, equipped with an OPPO Find X6 Pro, demonstrated immense talent throughout the competition, and his series, "Daughters of the Moon", captured the characteristics of Yi minorities. A distinguished panel of internationally acclaimed judges selected this remarkable series of portraits showcasing serenity and positivity of Yi women along with their ethnic fashion and lifestyle. Ahei Huan's skillful and sensitive mastery in the art of photography was greatly admired.
Ahei Huan's series, "Daughters of the Moon", demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism, earning him the esteemed OPPO Image IF Master of the Year (Gold Award). The prize comprises of RMB 160,000, a 2023 OPPO flagship product set featuring a smartphone, headset, watch, tablet, and an invitation to the Hasselblad Image Training Camp. In addition, Ahei Huan has been signed as the OPPO Photographer of the Year. The OPPO Find X6 Pro, being used in 80% of the award-winning entries, has seen considerable praise among both professional photographers and enthusiasts since its launch.
Four other photographers bagged the Silver Award. Their judicious use of OPPO smartphones to impeccably reproduce light and shadow in images carves a distinct and impactful look. Their work exhibited a high level of creativity and imagination. Each Silver Award is worth RMB 60,000 and includes an OPPO Find X6 Pro. They will also receive training and international exposure. Besides, ten photographers from China and Bangladesh were also bestowed with the OPPO Bronze Awards. These entries were diverse, including portraits, architecture, landscapes, and more, showcasing inspiring colour contrast, strong color composition, and unique expressions of emotion.
OPPO also recognized thirty-two other creative entries across eight categories apart from the Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. These categories include The Distant View, Portrait, Night Scenery, Colors, Landscape, The Taste of Memories, Light & Shadow, and Chapters of a Life. As an associate partner of the largest international art fair, Paris Photo, OPPO will be showcasing some of the winning photographic works at the exhibition, celebrating them with a global audience.
