The digitally-based banking institution, Monzo, is rolling out a new smartphone application that facilitates easy investment processes with just a few clicks. By integrating such financial services into their platform, Monzo aims to bridge the gap between everyday banking and investment management.

Monzo currently serves around eight million customers from across the United Kingdom and is offering them a chance to invest sums as small as £1 into a variety of asset funds managed by BlackRock. This efficient, cost-effective, and accessible approach aims to democratise investment opportunities for a larger population.

Monzo's application features three investor profiles - ‘careful’, ‘balanced’, and ‘adventurous’ - that cater to varying levels of risk tolerance. Customers can select a profile depending on their financial goals and risk preference. Monzo has created these profiles to aid their customers in utilizing their investment opportunities to the fullest.

The platform charges a fee of 0.59% of the total investment value, which covers a 0.14% fund fee and 0.45% platform fee. For instance, an investment of £1,000 would have an annual fee of £5.90. This transparent, affordable fee structure seeks to make investing more approachable to new and experienced investors alike.

One of the many benefits of investing through Monzo's platform is the ability to withdraw any invested money at any point of time with no extra charges, thus providing flexibility and ease of access to investors. This is in line with Monzo's commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction and convenience.

Interested customers can join a waiting list to display their interest in investing. This initiative comes at a time when a YouGov poll, commissioned by Monzo, revealed that over half of the respondents would feel more in control of their finances if they could monitor their expenditure, savings, and investments in one single platform.

Monzo’s CEO, TS Anil, expressed his enthusiasm regarding this new development and stated: ‘We acknowledge that our customers are interested in investing towards long-term financial goals but often feel lost about where to begin. This service is an important milestone in our mission to make money management accessible for everyone.’
