Honor, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has affirmed it will reinstate its operations in India by launching new models in the country. This decision comes nearly three years since the company began relying on the Noida-based PSAV Global to distribute its smartphones in India. It is theorized that Honor will introduce models that had been previously released in the Chinese market earlier this year. In a recent publicity move, the company started hinting at its return to the Indian market through its Honor Tech India accounts on various social media sites.

Providing further fuel to the speculation, Madhav Sheth, the Vice President for Business and Corporate Strategy at Realme since June, took to social media to tease the launch of new Honor-branded smartphones in India. However, Sheth, who recently formed an association with the Chinese mobile maker, did not divulge specifics regarding which smartphone model would be the first to make its debut. Recent reports suggest that the Honor 90 could be launched in India as early as September.

"Exciting News Alert! Honor Smartphones will be launched soon in India. Join us on this incredible journey as we empower the future with Honor Tech," enthuses Sheth. The company started off the year by launching the Honor 90 alongside other models in China. This model is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, coupled with a stupendous 16GB of RAM. The smartphone flaunts a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,200 x 2,664 pixels) curved OLED display with an impressive 1,600 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate.

For photography and video recording enthusiasts, the Honor 90 comes equipped with a whopping 200-megapixel primary camera. This triple rear camera setup also features a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Furthermore, selfies and video chats are accommodated by a 50-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone comes with an inbuilt storage capacity of up to 512GB, providing plenty of space for users to store their data.

The Honor 90 also offers various connectivity options, including 5G, 4G LTE, W-Fi-6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone operates on an Android 13-based MagicOS 7.1 straight out of the box. Moreover, it packs a 5,000mAh battery, providing long uninterrupted usage and furnished with quick charging support of 66W. As the tech world waits in anticipation, it will be interesting to see how the resumption of Honor’s operations in India will unfold.
