Google is preparing to enhance the Gmail application on smartphones by integrating the Gemini feature, an addition that has shown significant demand.

Detailed at their annual I/O developer conference on May 14, Google announced that users subscribed to Workspace and Google One AI Premium plans will gain access to the Gemini email summarization tool within the Gmail app starting from the next month.

Before the broader launch, there is an opportunity this month for users to experiment with the summaries feature directly in the app to test its capabilities.

Coming in July, Google plans to roll out experimental features like contextual smart replies and Gmail question and answer capabilities as part of the Workspace Labs program.

Google has yet to announce a specific date for when these features will be officially released to all users.

Furthermore, users will soon be able to utilize the Gemini tool for email inquiries and automated reply generation based on the email's content, directly from both the app and the web version of Gmail.

These new tools aim to provide a more detailed and nuanced approach to auto-replies and will be accessible through a new Gemini button within the app, marking a significant enhancement for professionals who manage a high volume of emails daily.
