Reports suggest that Samsung's upcoming Z Fold 5 smartphone will not include the anticipated dust resistance feature. According to tipster @UniverseIce, the Z Fold 5 is unlikely to have an IP58 dust and water resistance rating, as reported by SamMobile. Instead, it is expected to maintain the IPX8 water resistance rating seen in its predecessors, the Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 4. Recent speculations had indicated that Samsung would introduce the dust resistance feature in its upcoming devices, set to be launched this month.

Previous rumors had also suggested that the Z Fold 5 smartphone would feature an upgraded hinge capable of enduring 200,000 folds. Additionally, the device is expected to include a 108MP primary rear camera and an integrated slot for the S Pen stylus. It is anticipated that the Z Fold 5 will be priced at $1,699 and will be available in three standard colors—Cream, Diamond, and Phantom Black—as well as three online-exclusive colors—Blue, Coral, and Platinum.

Samsung had previously announced that it would unveil its next-generation foldable devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event in late July in Seoul. However, the recent information shared by the tipster suggests that the Z Fold 5 may not feature the dust resistance capability, unlike initial expectations. Samsung enthusiasts and potential buyers will have to wait for the official unveiling to confirm the device's specifications and features.
