As the season of tech unveilings is just around the corner, both Samsung and Apple are gearing up for their 2023 fall launches. In anticipation of the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event this week, a significant price reduction has been announced for Samsung's premier Galaxy device, the S23. EE, a renowned retailer, is offering a hefty discount of over £300 for all customers purchasing the handset with a specific data plan.

Customers opting for EE's unlimited data plan along with the handset will receive a £336 discount on the Galaxy S23 plan, bringing down the monthly cost from £71 to £51. This offer is available on a 24-month plan, which totals £1,398 for the S23 handset and a two-year unlimited data package.

When compared to EE's unlimited SIM-only plan, which costs £30 a month for data alone, customers end up paying £678 for the handset with this combined plan, even though it retails for £849 at Samsung.

This price cut coincides with Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked Event, scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, in South Korea. The tech giant is anticipated to unveil the latest additions to its Z series of smartphones, including updated versions of the current Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 handsets.

While a new range of S23 devices is not expected to be announced this week (as the S series is typically launched in February each year), many providers, including EE, have begun to roll out some of their most affordable deals on the handset.

Vodafone is another provider offering an enticing deal on the standard S23 device. As pointed out by Mobiles.co.uk, Vodafone is offering a £115 discount on the handset for customers who opt for the 100GB data plan. Customers will pay an initial upfront fee of £110, followed by £26 a month for 24 months, totaling £733.

Some Amazon sellers are also offering the S23 handset at prices lower than Samsung's, such as this listing for £774. However, Samsung's official Amazon page maintains the standard £849 price tag. Therefore, it's advisable for customers to thoroughly check the details listed alongside the cheaper offers, including dispatch location, seller reviews, and aspects like SIM compatibility, before purchasing a handset from Amazon.
