In October, Black Shark made its debut in the smartwatch industry with the launch of the S1 model. Now, the company is continuing to broaden its horizons with the introduction of two new versions, the S1 Classic and the S1 Pro. Despite being primarily known for its gaming smartphones, Black Shark's venture into the wearable device market isn't as unusual as one might think. It is following a path similar to that of Razer, another major player in the gaming industry, which once released gaming phones and even rolled out fitness trackers and a fully-integrated smartwatch.

The S1 Classic and the S1 Pro share a number of features with the original S1 smartwatch. For instance, both models sport the same 1.43-inch AMOLED display, ensuring no reduction in screen real estate. They are also expected to have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, offering durability, although these specifications are not explicitly stated by the company. An overabundance of sport modes tracking, over 100 to be exact, retained from the prior model.

With the new models, Black Shark has implemented minor design changes that are more noticeable in the S1 Pro model. The S1 Classic's most significant visual alteration is the addition of two more side buttons, bringing the total to three. These buttons are digitized crowns, replacing the flat button seen on the initial S1 model. The S1 Pro also follows suit with three digitized crown buttons, but with a much tougher appearance.

AI-based features are a major selling point of the new S1 Pro model. Although it's still unclear about the extent of AI integration and its specific operations, Black Shark has provided some insights. The S1 Pro will have compatibility with ChatGPT, offering users an interactive, personalized experience right from their wrist. The smartwatch allows users to personalize watch faces with AI.

The battery longevity of the S1 Pro is another remarkable improvement from the former model. Whereas the first model had a respectable battery life of up to 10 days on a single charge, the S1 Pro amplifies this to a whopping 15 days. This effectively extends the battery life by almost an entire work week.

Information on the S1 Classic is somewhat limited, although it does share the S1 Pro's expansive range of sport modes tracking and slightly exceeds the original model's battery life, boasting up to 12 days on a charge. Both smartwatches are currently only available in selected worldwide markets, but Black Shark has announced plans to launch them in the United States.

In the US, the watches will be sold directly through the Black Shark's official website. The S1 Classic and S1 Pro will be priced at $66.90 and $76.90, respectively, upon their release. No official release dates have been disclosed yet. However, for those unable to wait, the smartwatches are available for purchase on AliExpress with international shipping, including to the US. Please be advised that the items ship from China and therefore, longer delivery times can be expected.
